Honda had a strong U.S. sales performance in September from the freshened Honda Pilot and re-engineered Acura RDX crossovers, but lower sales across the rest of the line resulted in a 7 percent sales dip from the year-earlier period.
A freshened Acura NSX debuted during Monterey Car Week festivities with a modified chassis and software tuning along with new tires. It's available for order and deliveries are expected to begin in October.
Acura's rededication to its performance heritage came full circle this year with the debut of the redesigned 2019 RDX crossover. The spry RDX, which hit dealerships in June, signals the styling and engineering direction that upcoming Acura models will follow.
Acura is making several updates and offering a new A-Spec trim package on the MDX crossover for 2019. The changes are fairly minor -- new interior trim wood, standard four-way power lumbar adjustments for the front seats and five new exterior colors. An active damper system is now offered as an option across the line.
